Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. ESV
In the face of all that is going on around us in the world, let us remain strong in our hope, in our confident expectation regarding the Lord Jesus Christ and His faithfulness, His promises, His Word of Life.
Let us not become those who shrink back, or draw back into fearful compromise, acquiescing to those who would threaten, be offended by the truth, or would attack the message and thus the messengers of the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us not surrender our genuine saving faith and its message for the sake of cultural acceptance or relativity, self-preservation, or even of a worldly appeasement, or worldly acceptance and approval.
Let us not be as those who at the first sign of difficulty regarding our saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, seek for ways in which we might appear less threatening to those around us, thus watering down of the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word says so clearly that the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is to one the fragrance of death and to another the fragrance of life eternal. In the end the Lord has continued to set before mankind His choice of life or death. Let us not in our self-preservation or self-seeking nature, water down His truth, thus removing His authentic call to choose, life or death, in and through the Lord Jesus Christ, alone!
The message and the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ will always be to some a message that threatens, offends and give place or reason for attack, mockery or ridicule. It has and yet shall even continue to be that message which will require of far too many, their very lives and existence, the ultimate sacrifice.
The truth be known is this: that only those whose hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and in the power of His blood to save completely, and who then, in light of this hope, uncompromisingly live out and declare fearlessly the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, having so grown in the Lord Jesus Christ as to not love their own lives and existence more than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. These are they who will in the end, truly overcome the world.
It is only this kind of Abrahamic Faith, which will in the end receive the rewards that the Lord Jesus Christ will bring with Him when He comes. Therefore, let us not, in the fear of man, of death, of rejection, of disapproval, of timidity, of shame, embarrassment, of pride and arrogance, of self-preservation, seek to save our own lives. No! Rather, let us become as those who are genuinely in and of the Lord Jesus Christ, who willingly surrender our lives fully, to and for Him, that we might truly gain life, His life, eternal.
